I think with Valentines Day right around the corner, it is time I introduce my recipe for raw lavender and honey cheesecake. This basic recipe is quite delicious by itself, but can be taken up a notch by getting creative with toppings. I promise you will never look at cheesecake in the same way after today!
AHHHHH!!!!! I love this dessert!
How do you show love? I show love by cooking for my friends, family and those close to me. It is my way of communicating and showing how much I care. I love paying special attention to sourcing quality ingredients and knowing that those that I love are being fed something that is healthy for them.
Just because Valentines Day is right around the corner, does not mean you cannot enjoy this raw lavender and honey cheesecake on other special occasions. I love this dessert all year round, and I love making it on holidays when there is so much store-bought processed candy flooding the isles. These will satisfy your sweet tooth without the sugar and unnecessary ingredients.
You will notice that I use raw nuts in this recipe. Why raw? Because it is simple and it tastes fabulous! You will see that this recipe has only 8 ingredients and you will never miss the cream cheese! The secret ingredients are nuts in the form of raw almonds, cashews, and coconut oil! Coconut oil is a saturated fat, but don’t be afraid of it. Not only does it help this recipe stay solid at room temperature, but it is made up of medium chain triglycerides. Our body recognizes and digests these much like a carbohydrate for quick energy. To learn more about why I love coconut oil, check out this previous blog post.
